Of course I saw Bruno opening weekend.

Annie and I saw Bruno on sunday. I thought my favorite mimi was working so I saw it without her (gasp). I know, bad taste on my part.

First of all, everyone should try sneaking into the Broadway Metroplex, I only realized after the fact how easy it would've been.

We all knew how fucking funny this movie was going to be, but the bigger question was if it was going to be funnier than Borat. The answer is yes and no. More of the bits in Borat were slightly funnier, perhaps just because that movie was first, so seemed more shocking, and perhaps because the general story was better written. But, you know how in these movies the worst people in America are exploited for the fear mongering idiots they really are and we get to laugh at them. More of the same in Bruno sure, but those instances are completely pushed farther and perhaps then funnier. Next sentence is kind of a spoiler but, having a gay make out session in the middle of a UFC ring in Arkansas? All the enraged and crying Darlenes and Dustins in the crowd watching on made me bounce up and down in my seat.

Is this real?

I think frightened rabbit is the wost band ever ever ever. My ears are bleeding just thinking about them. I'm tired of my ears being filled with mediocre pop music, Now I have to see this stupid band plastered on every terrible music blog on the internet. Basically if I were to have a soundtrack to my nightmares it would be this band's new album. Harsh assessment? Watch this video and try to sleep tonight. "Nothing is worse than going to bed with a mediocre poop song stuck in yr head!". See anyone can make words sound alike. I don't get how bands like this are popular. Do people love punishing their ears? I DON'T GET IT.

*p.s. those were lyrics from my mediocre pop band, all rights reserved for heyro kritty.

CORALINE

Coraline!

Ezzy buddy tawking bout dis one!!!

After seeing it, there's a very good fucking reason everyone's in giggles about it. The story is beautiful and dark. Like I think everything in the world should be because I am a gothic princess. I like anything that feels like a well written dream, and that's what I got from this animated gem. Oh, no big deal of anything but, IT'S IN 3D (see picture). I forget the actual number, but I think it makes a movie around fifty times better, always.

Teri Hatcher was a great choice for the "other mother," her frightening bone structure just reverbs through her voice, gross. I forget the director's name but it's the same dude from nightmare before christmas, no tim burton actually didn't direct that if you didn't know and felt like feelin dumb right now. ah, looked it up, Henry Selick. He also did James and the Giant Peach and Monkeybone.  Remember Monkeybone, that weird shit with Brenden Fraser? It is redundant to state "weird shit" and "Brenden Fraser" in the same sentence? Who cares huh, yeah fuck it.

Yesterday I also watched a freaky little thing called Tokyo Gore Police. Disgusting, mildly amusing, mostly just too kinkfuckgore for me and I would have liked it to move better, but asian movies have that weird pace sometimes. It was an employee pick at Videorama on Alberta, Mimi and I concluded it was a sick joke. Or someone working there is a boob. BOTH BOTH BOTH.

Also I was half asleep and watched Robocop 2. UHHHHHH GAAWWWWW SEW BHED. The first one is so retardedly enjoyable, I was really bummed. It's not directed by Paul Verhoeven, unlike the first one, so that should have been a clue. I'm not sure if I can watch the third guy, but I'm sure I'll need to kill four hours again soon.

oh hello!

I'm certainly not a movie goer. I just don't think modern day movies are worth going to see. However I think this movie restored my faith in cinema again. It was wonderfully eerie and beautifully executed. The cinematography was gorgeous. Also, I apparently would rly like to touch all Swedish people naked.

Reflections from the night:

"Is that what a 12 yr old tranny's anti-vajayjay looks like???" -mimi

This was after catching a glimpse of the vampire Eli's vagine.

Natalie seemed to be a little spooked, I think the beers we sneaked in didn't help her anxiety with scary movies. Don't be mislead, this movie wasn't the least bit scary. It does tend to make you a bit nervous at times.

My friend Loni apparently wanted to marry the 12 yr old main character, Oskar. I think we might have to look up the statutory laws in Sweden before that happens

*Overall I highly rate this movie a hot tranny mess from transylvania, in a good way. Go see it if you haven't already.

Beginning to get things?

Welcome! Mimi and I literally just thought of the idea for this blog. Now, only in speaking in general and funny terms, Mimi isn't a big movie person and I (Natalie) am not a big music person. We just don't mesh well. Our hope with this blog is to a) inform others of our horrible opinions, and b) enlighten our own understanding of some iffy subjects of ours.

So, let's get the goin goin!

Mimi really likes Love Is All. They are playing Saturday at backspace with Vivian Girls and Nodzzz.
Natalie liked Love Is All especially the video for Wishing Well because of the moving shiny people.

"Aww she's so small"

Then we looked up Vivian Girls.

"boring town, why do grrrrrrllzzzz always make music like this when they get together? it's either that or campfire music, I just don't get it."

Then Nodzzz.

"cute!"

Then Natalie wanted to know what the hell The Hold Steady was because she made reference to it without actually hearing them.

"whatever they sound dumb."

then she heard it, here's what happen:

Hilarity ensued.

Tonight Mimi and Natalie are going to see Let The Right One In. Mimi is scared of Swedish children because she knows they are capable of being much taller and blonder than she. Natalie thinks they are hot. Vampires!

Stay Tuned!
